Day 1

Explore Lake Manyara National Park

Explore Lake Manyara National Park

Today, the driver-guide will pick you up from Arusha with picnic lunch boxes and hold a quick briefing before we depart to Lake Manyara National Park entrée gate. Upon arrival at the gate, you will patiently wait for the permits formalities to be issued and registrations.

Once the permits are sorted, get ready to explore one of the smaller but most scenic park – Lake Manyara National Park. The spectacular alkaline Lake Manyara forms the centre point of this small and very beautiful park with surprisingly diverse fauna and flora. A circuit drive through the park passes through forest, wetlands, grassy plains and acacia forests, offering views of different animals and multitudes of birds. The shallow Hippo Pool offers excellent opportunities for hippo sightings and you will have a spectacular view of the Rift Valley Escarpment. Late afternoon we drive to the lodge at Karatu Town for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.

Today after breakfast, you will collect your picnic lunch boxes and continue your African safari experience to one of the country’s biggest draws: The Serengeti National Park. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife that call the Serengeti home are unsurpassed. ‘Serengeti’ comes from the Maasai language meaning ‘endless plains’ and this rightly describes it. Serengeti National Park is Africa’s most famous park due to the largest concentration of game on the continent and the migration of millions of wildebeest. The most impressive nature documentaries were shot in this beautiful park. With almost 15.000 km2 (6,000 sq. miles), Serengeti National Park is the second largest park in Tanzania. The captivating landscapes of the Serengeti National Park vary from savannahs with acacia trees and vast grasslands to rising mountains, lakes and swamps. Each area is unique and has its own atmosphere. This park will definitely touch your soul.

Discover the breath taking Ngorongoro Crater

Today you will discover the striking Ngorongoro Crater. Two to three million years ago the large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself. As a result, the crater formed which then created a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. The mix of forests, valleys, savannah, craters, lakes and swamps is home for a wide range of animals. This collapsed volcano is one of Tanzania’s most visited destinations, and it’s certainly not hard to see why. One of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders, the crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is brimming with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. Roam the unique landscape from the safety and comfort of your private safari vehicle, and experience nature at its very finest. Late afternoon we drive back to Arusha City.
