3-Day Kilimanjaro Hike via Marangu Route

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Following breakfast, you will rendezvous with our mountain guide and drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. After completing the necessary registration, the hike will commence, lasting approximately 3 hours as you pass through the rainforest to reach the Mandara encampment. A side trip to Maundi Crater presents an excellent opportunity to admire the surroundings, including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. While in the rainforest, keep an eye out for birdlife, Colobus monkeys, and the mossy vegetation.

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

As you depart from the rainforest glades, your journey continues along an ascending path through the open moorlands, leading you towards the Horombo encampment. The vistas of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo are truly breathtaking. Keep an eye out for the towering giant lobelias and grounsels along the way. If you still have the energy and inclination to explore, a short walk to Zebra Rock promises to be rewarding.

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Following breakfast, embark on a gradual descent that leads you through the moorland, eventually reaching the Mandara Hut. Continue your descent, following the rainforest path until you arrive at the Marangu National Park gate. There, a vehicle will be ready and waiting to transport you back to your hotel.
