Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Pick up from your hotel or airport in Nairobi and depart for Maasai Mara, driving through the dramatic Great Rift Valley with scenic viewpoints and escarpments along the way. Pass through rolling farmlands and local towns before descending into the open savannah landscapes of the Mara. Arrive at your camp/lodge in time for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive across vast golden plains dotted with acacia trees. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and predators such as lions, cheetahs, and possibly leopards. Enjoy the sunset over the endless savannah before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

On the second day in Masai Mara National Reserve, you will spend a full day in the park. Driving across the plains in search of the big cats (black-manned lions, cheetahs, and leopards) with a picnic lunch served at the Mara River famously known for the wildebeest migration. Our guide will serve you with a packed meal as you watch the hippos and crocodiles lying along the river. Vast herds of wildebeest and zebras wander across the Mara grasslands in huge numbers during this period of the annual migrations take place, when millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelle traverse the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new grass from the Serengeti. You also have a chance to see other plain game like the topi, heartbeests, and elands. You'll have dinner and an overnight stay at your camp.

Day 3

Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Lake Naivasha, leaving behind the vast savannah for the scenic Rift Valley landscape. Enjoy views of escarpments, farmland, and changing vegetation as you descend into the lake region. Arrive in time for lunch and relax before heading out for a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake surrounded by papyrus vegetation and acacia woodlands. Expect to see hippos in the water and a variety of birdlife, including fish eagles and herons. Continue to Crescent Island for a guided walking safari through open plains where wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and antelopes roam freely. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4

Hell's Gate to Nairobi

Hell's Gate to Nairobi

After breakfast, depart for Hell’s Gate National Park, known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, towering cliffs, deep gorges, and geothermal activity. The park offers one of the few places in Kenya where you can cycle among wildlife. Expect encounters with zebras, gazelles, hartebeests, giraffes, and buffaloes against a backdrop of striking rock formations and steam vents. Optional guided walks in the gorge reveal narrow canyon walls and unique geological features. After the activity, drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon you will be dropped at your place of residence in Nairobi as your safari comes to an end.
