Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive north through central Kenya, passing coffee plantations, equator crossing points, and scenic landscapes. Arrive in Samburu National Park in time for lunch and relaxation at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River, where wildlife gathers to drink. Look out for Samburu’s unique “Special Five”: the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and beisa oryx. You may also spot elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.
