Day 1

Zanzibar to Seronera Airstrip

Zanzibar to Seronera Airstrip

Your Zanzibar hotel will be the starting point of the safari. You will be picked up and taken to Zanzibar Airport for a 1.5-hour flight. Departing from Zanzibar Airport, your flight will take you over the Indian Ocean, the Tanzanian hinterland, the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands, and the vast Serengeti expanse before descending to Seronera Airstrip. The aerial views are truly breathtaking!

Within half an hour of landing, you will find yourself in a 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, ready to experience all the Serengeti offers. Around noon, there will be a picnic break for lunch and a chance to stretch your legs before continuing your adventure.

In the late afternoon, we return to Matawi Serengeti Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Serengeti to Ngorongoro and Arusha

Serengeti to Ngorongoro and Arusha

After breakfast, embark on a 3-hour drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting game drive. Around midday, enjoy your lunch at the crater's base. Ngorongoro is recognized as one of the eight Wonders of the World, and the crater is a vital sanctuary for a wide range of wildlife.

You will likely spot large elephant bulls and the vulnerable black rhino. The crater is also home to substantial herds of wildebeest and zebra, Thomson's and Grant's gazelle, hippopotamuses, Cape buffalo, prides of lions, hyenas, serval cats, golden and black-backed jackals, and nearly 400 bird species.

After completing your afternoon game drive, head back to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay at Karibu Heritage House.

Day 3

Arusha to Materuni Waterfalls and Return Flight to Zanzibar

Following your morning meal at the hotel, set out for Materuni Village. Upon arrival, complete your registration at the village office to kickstart your adventure. Your first stop will be the waterfalls, just a 40-minute walk away. The pool at the waterfall's base is perfect for a refreshing swim, so remember to bring your swimwear.

After savouring the beautiful scenery, leisurely make your way back to Materuni Village alongside your guide, where you get to enjoy a traditional Chagga lunch. You also have the chance to taste our local banana beer. Then, it is time for the coffee experience. Here, you discover how coffee is grown, dried, roasted, and processed. You will be invited to assist with grinding the coffee, all while enjoying Chagga songs and dances—a delightful way to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Finally, depart for Kilimanjaro International Airport in the evening for your flight to Zanzibar.
