You will be met by our representative for a tour briefing at your Nairobi hotel in the morning at about 0700hrs(am). Start the 6 hour journey to Samburu Game reserve situated in Samburu County on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro river. Arrive in time for lunch at Samburu Sopa Lodge. Afternoon game drive watching a number of animals and enjoying the scenic views of the reserve. Later return to Samburu Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full Day In Samburu Game Reserve

This full day in the Samburu Game reserve will be spent searching for the big 5, the samburu five, and observing the vast unspoiled scenery during morning and afternoon game drive. Samburu game reserve is renowned for its rare species of animals unique to the park, namely: the long necked gerenuk, grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, and Beisa oryx. The elusive Kenya leopard is often known to visit the park, especially in the evenings. Kenya wildlife present in the park includes the cheetahs and lions, as well as elephants, buffalo and hippos. Birdlife is plentiful as wildlife at Samburu National reserve, which boasts over 350 different species of birds including vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, somali ostriches, and others. A camel-back safari is a specialty in samburu, as well as a cultural visit to the samburu people who depend on their cattle, goat, sheep and donkey can be arranged. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.
