Nairobi to Samburu

Samburu National Reserve is a Kenyan less visited Game Reserve and is situated within the Rift Valley. It is relatively small in size compared to other Kenyan parks, such as Tsavo but it has more to offer as well as several endangered species.
Pick up at 0730am after early breakfast from your hotel or home, drive to the rich agricultural area of Mount Kenya region via the famous Pineapple leading company Delmonte, you will also have an opportunity to cross the equator just before you arrive at Famous Nanyuki town for the mountain climbers.
Lunch will be on the way as well as a short stopover in Nanyuki. After lunch transverse to Isiolo town via Asher’s post to arrive in Samburu in the afternoon. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and freshenup and thereafter head for the evening game drive.
After the game drive, you will return to the Simba Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Samburu reserve fullday exploration

The whole day will be spent exploring this amazing game reserve, it gives you the refreshment of your mind as the park is not populated and not many people visits here, we have a concentration of the big five, Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo, Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Gravy Zebra, Best Oryx, Endangered Wild Dog as well as Pun cake Tortoise - Endangered. There are over 450 species of birds identified and aquatic species in the Uaso Nyiro River including, vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches, and others.
You can have the option of taking picnic lunch with you or go back to the lodge for lunch and resume for gamedrive in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the Simba lodge.

Samburu to Nairobi

Uaso Nyiro River cuts through this reserve and bustles with activity from its huge population of Nile crocodiles. Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness. Their story was made famous by the bestselling book and award-winning movie "Born Free".
On this last day you will have a wakeup call at 0600am, then proceed for the early morning game drive, this gives you a chance to spot the early morning Kills from the big five, after the gem drive returns to the lodge for the main breakfast. Have the option of visiting the local Samburu villages where you get a chance to interact with the colorful Samburu people in their traditional setting and experience their culture. Thereafter leave and head back to Nairobi with a stopover in Nanyuki for lunch. Arrive in Nairobi late afternoon with a drop off at the hotel/residence or the airport.
