5-Day Hiking Safari to Lake Natron

Longido - Ketumbeni

After breakfast the car will bring you from Arusha to Longido (1,5 hours drive), where the starting point of the hike is located. You will hike through a landscape of mountains and see young maasai boys taking care of their life-stock. Wildlife like zebras, giraffes, gernuk and antilopes you will encounter.
A lunchbox is enclosed and you will finish the hike today at the guesthouse in Ketembeni. Diner will be served at the guesthouse.

Ketembeni - hotsprings Lake Natron

After breakfast in the guesthouse, you will start your hike today and you will be headed to Gelai Mountain, this is also a volcano but not active anymore like Oldonyo Lengai. After lunch the car will pick you up and will bring you to the hotsprings of Lake Natron.
When you arrive at the hotsprings it is possible to take a bath, while fishes are snibbling your feet. In the tented camp diner will be served, with a perfect view at Lake Natron. You will feel yourself at the end of the world.

Hot springs Lake Natron - Engaresero

After breakfast the car will bring you to 'small serengeti'. Here you will start hiking and you will be wandering by seeing zebra's, wildebeest and giraffes. After lunch at the guesthouse you can rest and take a swim. In the late afternoon you can enjoy a short game drive where you can see giraffes and zebras going to drink and sundown at lake Natron.
Diner will be served at the guesthouse.

Exploring Lake Natron

The surroundings of Lake Natron can be explored today. After breakfast you hike to Lake Natron and come back for a hot lunch at the guesthouse. After resting you will hike to see the waterfalls of Engaresero.
The programm can be extended by climbing Oldonyo Lengai, the only active volcano in Tanzania. For this climb one must be physically strong.

Lake Natron - Arusha

The last day of the hiking safari, so after breakfast you will heading by car to Arusha. On the way you can stop at the crater nearby pete of God. The first 3 hours are rough road and during the journey in this remote area, Oldonyo Lengai will be constantly in your view.
After 5 hours you will reach Arusha. If you want you can take a visit to the cultural Heritage. A museum where Tanzanian and African art is exposed. Very nice museum and free entrance. You will be drop where ever you like in Arusha.
