Day 1

Nairobi - Samburu National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel/ the airport, and drive to our office for briefing. Thereafter you will be driven north past the equator to the Northern Frontier district. Continue to the semi-arid Samburu National Reserve and check in at your lodge. There will be time to settle in before your safari adventure.

Samburu is also known for some rather unique wildlife not usually seen elsewhere such as Grevy’s zebra, the reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa oryx. This is also one of the few parks where you have a good chance of spotting African wild dogs. On game drives over the savannah, through acacia forest and riverine vegetation, there will be numerous opportunities to view kingfisher, marabou, vulture, guinea fowl, Somali ostrich, egret, falcon, and eagle. Set out for an afternoon game drive in the reserve and return to the lodge before dark. Dinner and overnight will be at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

After breakfast, head out for a full day of game viewing in this semi-arid park with its striking background views of Matthew's Range. Drive through the gently flowing Ewaso Nyiro River which traverses this park, providing evergreen vegetation for wildlife. Game drives and bird watching are the ideal way to experience nature. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Samburu - Lake Nakuru

Samburu - Lake Nakuru

After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, located inside the Lake Nakuru National Park. In the afternoon you will embark on a game drive where you will have the opportunity to spot leopards, rhino, and the famous pink flamingos as well as a variety of other wildlife. Lake Nakuru national park is home to over 56 different mammals and over 450 species of birds. You can look forward to an entertaining afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 4

You will have an early breakfast, check out and enjoy a morning game drive in search of wildlife. Later on, you will leave the park and drive further southwards to Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge. You will relax after lunch and later go for an evening game drive. Masai Mara is renowned for the spectacular great migration that takes place from July through October. Nevertheless, it is an all-year-round destination that never disappoints. You can spot all of the Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and Cape buffalos) at any time of the year.

Day 5

After breakfast, you will enjoy a full day in the Masai Mara National Reserve in search of the Big Five of Africa under the open roof of a tour vehicle with a packed lunch that will be served as a picnic lunch. Enjoy the beautiful Mara savannah grassland landscape on rolling hills and its "residents". The reserve is best known for its wildebeest migration which is seasonal between July, August and September. If you're lucky, you will view all of the Big 5. The Masai Mara is home to a variety of bird species which is a magnificent sight. You will later return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, you can opt for an early morning balloon safari over the Mara plains, which can be arranged for an additional cost.
