Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

We leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park. This Park covering approximately 2600 square kilometers is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas

The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, which is the only source of water for the wild animals here during the dry season. The park is famous for its large numbers of elephants, baobab trees and tree-climbing African pythons.

Day 3-4

Serengeti Central

After breakfast, we proceed to the Central part of Serengeti. This Park is well-known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the "big five", named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffaloes, and Rhinos.

Serengeti is a park located in northern Tanzania and is a World Heritage Site occupying an area of around 15,000 square kilometres, with over 2 million herbivores, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species. This area is with massive herds of migratory wildebeest and zebra during the dry season. However, the North Serengeti also supports an abundance of resident wildlife including lion, elephant, hippo, giraffe, crocodile and the rare oribi antelope.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we will drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour with picnic descent to the crater floor for the day tour. Some 20,000 mammals live in the area including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals are commonly seen, while leopards, servals and bat-eared foxes may be seen with some luck.

The crater is the world's largest caldera which was formed after an explosion which occurred approximately two million years ago. The crater floor is have many species of animals and a great variety of birds.

Flight to Zanzibar

After breakfast, we head back to Arusha Hotel for lunch. You will then take a flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Zanzibar in the afternoon.

Zanzibar is the main island in the Tanzanian archipelago of Zanzibar consisting of Unguja and Pemba Islands and many smaller islands. There is also Stone Town, a historic trade centre with Swahili and Islamic influences.
