Day 1
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
Your guide will meet you at the hotel at around 7:30 AM and you'll be in Tarangire by mid-morning. The park is best known for its elephant herds – large family groups that congregate along the Tarangire River, particularly in the dry season. Lion, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and a range of antelope are regular presences too. Altezza guides share sightings over a private radio channel, which helps when tracking less predictable wildlife.
Lunch is a picnic in the park, before continuing into the afternoon and returning to your hotel by evening.

Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
An early start pays off here – the crater floor is most rewarding in the cooler morning hours. Your guide will pick you up at around 6:30 AM, and you'll be descending into the caldera within the hour.
The Ngorongoro Crater holds one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent within a single enclosed landscape. Elephant, buffalo, lion, wildebeest and zebra are reliable presences; hippos gather in the crater's lake; serval and caracal are here for those paying close attention. The black rhino – one of a small resident population – is rarer, but the crater is one of the better places in Tanzania to find one.
Lunch is a picnic by the lake, with time to watch before continuing the drive.
You'll be back in Arusha by evening. Your guide will drop you off at the hotel of your choice. If you need assistance with booking this hotel night, just let us know.
