Pick up from the airport to Arusha

On this day you will be picked up from the airport either the Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport, will then drive to The Charity Hotel once you arrive & settled in, your guide will arrive briefly after to brief you on the hike, what to expect day by day as well as checking if you have all necessary gears for the hike.

Arusha to Momela gate then Mariakamba hut

Momella Gate to Miriakamba Huts.
Elevation: 4,921 ft to 8,250 ft.
Distance: 10 km.
Hiking Time: 4-6 hours.
Habitat: Rain Forest.
You will be picked up from your accommodation and transfer to the main gate of Arusha national park, Ngongongare. After complete paper-work, you will start your hike with a walking safari escorted by a park ranger on the way to Momela gate where your treks begin on the way to the first hut through Momela gate.

Mariakamba hut to Saddle hut

Miriakamba Huts to Saddle Huts.
Elevation: 8,250 ft to 11,712 ft.
Distance: 8 km.
Hiking Time: 3-5 hours.
Habitat: Heath.
Soon after your breakfast, the steepness of the landscape continues as you get higher, the vegetation pattern and weather also change dramatically. And at this point, you will be able to see the pick of Kilimanjaro on the eastern side.
The trail will take you to saddle hut near the summit, where you stay for an overnight.

Saddle hut to the peak then back to Mariakamba camp

Saddle Huts to Summit.
Elevation: 11,712 ft to 14,977 ft.
Distance: 5 km.
Hiking Time: 4-6 hours.
Habitat: Alpine Desert.

Summit to Miriakamba Huts.
Elevation: 14,977 ft to 8,250 ft.
Distance: 13 km.
Hiking Time: 4-6 hours.
Habitat: Heath.

Today will be dedicated to the summiting attempt at the peak of Mount Meru. the trail will pass through the steep ridge uphill where you will be required to trek slowly until the peak is reached. Reach the top, enjoy the sunrise, take more photos, and celebrate. Later descend gain to mariakamba hut for overnight.

Descend to Momela gate and drive to Arusha/Moshi/Airport

Miriakamba Huts to Momella Gate
Elevation: 11,712 ft to 4,921 ft
Distance: 10 km
Hiking Time: 2-4 hours
Habitat: Rain Fores

This will be the final day in Mount Merur, take a short and fast descent way through open grassland and mixed forest, with a possibility of seeing wildlife before reaching Momella Gate in the late morning. A certificate will be rewarded to those who attempt the summit.
Our drivers will be waiting at the gate to pick you back to your hotel in Arusha/Moshi or to the Airport.
