Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Lusaka to Kiambi, the gateway to the Lower Zambezi. You'll arrive at Kiambi, settle in, and later in the afternoon, indulge in the magic of a sunset cruise along the Zambezi, where the warm hues of the African sky paint a breathtaking backdrop to the meandering river.

You'll start your day with breakfast at 7:30/8:00 am, followed by a meeting with your canoeing guide. You will get a comprehensive overview of the day ahead, covering everything from the itinerary and potential encounters with wildlife to safety protocols on the river and at the campsites. You will learn essential canoeing techniques to make the most of your adventure.

You'll embark on your journey from our jetty to the canoe starting point. You'll enjoy a tea break and lunch, both expertly set up by our backup boat. After lunch, you'll continue downstream while the backup boat proceeds ahead to prepare the upcoming campsite.

In the late afternoon, you'll reach Buffalo Beans Island. You'll experience the convenience of pre-set amenities, including tents, standard camping mattresses, bedrolls, wash-up facilities, a drop toilet, and bucket shower facilities. Dinner, borehole drinking water, and juice are always provided for a comfortable and enjoyable evening in the great outdoors.

Day 3

You'll savor a rustic breakfast cooked over the crackling flames before you set out on your canoe adventure downstream. Our trusty backup boat follows closely behind, ensuring a smooth journey.

You'll take a break to explore a local village nestled along the Zambezi's banks. Immerse yourself in the community by visiting the school, checking out the local shops, and observing the authentic way of life.

Afterward, you'll indulge in a tea break expertly set up by our crew from the backup boat. For lunch, you'll enjoy another well-prepared meal courtesy of our backup boat crew, and then resume your downstream journey.

As the day winds down, you'll reach your campsite, thoughtfully arranged by our crew. Overnight arrangements remain the same, with everything set up for a comfortable and secure night in the wilderness.

Upon reaching Kiambi, take a moment to relax before you indulge in a delicious lunch at Kiambi, featuring a blend of local and international cuisines. The menu caters to various tastes, offering a satisfying midday meal.

After lunch, you'll embark on a comfortable drive back to Lusaka. You'll unwind and reflect on your experiences, making stops along the way to capture memorable moments and enjoy the changing landscapes. Adjust the itinerary as needed based on preferences and any additional activities that may arise.
