Zanzibar to Kogatende Airstrip
Arrive at Kogatende Airstrip, where our professional driver-guide will warmly welcome you. Experience a full day of game drives in Kogatende and Bologonja areas, focusing on the great migration. According to a recent update, the great migration has arrived in the Kogatende area of the Northern Serengeti and is getting ready for the epic crossing of the Masai River. The herds are gathering along the river all the way to the Gardenia Valley, moving into the Nyamalumbwa Plains and the Sand River. The great wildebeest migration - the annual migration of giant herds of grazers across Northern Tanzania and Kenya - is a truly spectacular event. Over 2 million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles move through the Serengeti and Masai Mara ecosystems in search of greener pasture.

Day 2
Northern Serengeti National Park
Northern Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, we have a game drive. The Northern Serengeti offers a chance to escape the crowds. This region of the park – wedged between the Central Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve to the north – is remote and relatively inaccessible, which means it sees fewer visitors. Travelers who make it to this corner of the Serengeti will be rewarded with gorgeous landscapes. The 800-kilometer trek of the immense wildebeest herd is the largest mammal migration on earth. The timing of the migration coincides with the greening of nutritious grasses on the short-grass plains during the wet season. These areas are safer because predators can be easily spotted, making them ideal places for calving. However, the plains are dry, and the wildebeest are forced to move in search of greener pastures in the Western corridor. The northern extension of the ecosystem has the highest rainfall, but the grasses are least nutritious.

Day 3
Northern Serengeti National Park
Northern Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, have a full-day game drive searching for the migration crossing the Mara River in Northern Serengeti National Park. If you’re planning a safari from Northern Serengeti, you’re in for a treat. The Serengeti National Park is home to a variety of wildlife species, including the Big 5 (elephants, lions, rhinos, buffalos and leopards) which are considered the most difficult wildlife species to hunt on foot. Other wildlife species that can be seen during a safari in Serengeti National Park include wildebeest, zebra, cheetah, hippo, antelope, impala and waterbuck. The annual migration of 2 million wildebeest through Serengeti National Park is the greatest wildlife spectacle of its kind in Africa and perhaps the world.
Although variations occur from year to year, the Serengeti migration follows a reasonably predictable annual cycle, dictated by local rainfall patterns.

Day 4
Central Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro
Central Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro
In the early morning, go on a game drive towards the Central Serengeti. The great migration is supposed to be in this area from late July to mid-October, crossing the famous Mara River to the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya and back to the Serengeti. You will have a high chance of seeing them crossing the river and attacking them. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the chance to see a large pride of lions. Be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest and zebras, as well as hippo pools. We journey from the wide-open plains to the kopjes. These volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals, and from the top, we can look out across the vast grasslands. After the game drive, you will be transferred to Farm of Dreams Lodge in Karatu, a 4- to 5-hour drive.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, you will find your driver-guide ready to pick you up and start your safari. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo). Other animals found in the crater include wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, hyenas, jackals, hippos, and antelopes. The crater is also home to the world’s densest lion population and the highest density of lions in the world. Additionally, the crater is home to the rare black rhino. It is important to note that giraffes are not found within the crater, as its steep walls form a natural barrier.
