After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you will travel to Murchison Falls National Park. As Uganda’s largest park, it is one of the best places to see many animals. The powerful Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile forces its way through the rocks and drops down toward Lake Albert, is a sight you won’t forget.
Although animal numbers dropped during the war years, they have now bounced back. You can expect to see elephants, Rothschild giraffes, lions, Ugandan kobs (a type of antelope), waterbucks, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and about 460 kinds of birds.
Once you arrive, visit the top of the falls, then continue to your lodge, do an evening game drive and later have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

On this day, wake up early and have breakfast at 6:00 am. Then, your driver and ranger guide will pick you up from the lodge to start your game drive at 6:30 am. During the drive, you will have the chance to see many animals such as lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, and different kinds of birds. The game drive will end around 11:40 am, after which you will return to the lodge to relax, freshen up, and have lunch before the afternoon boat cruise.
On the boat cruise, you will see Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants along the banks of the Nile. You will also spot many birds, some singing in the trees, including bee-eaters, colorful kingfishers, the shoe-bill stork, and others. The boat will take you to the base of Murchison Falls, where you will see the powerful waterfalls up close.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will travel to Kibale Forest National Park. Covering 795 square kilometers, Kibale is a tropical rainforest known for having one of the highest numbers of primates in Africa. You will stop for lunch in Fort Portal town before heading to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary for a swamp walk.
Located 6 kilometers south of the Kibale National Park visitor center in Kanyanchu (no park permit is needed for this activity), the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary was set up by a local group to protect the 4-square-kilometer Magombe Swamp. This swamp is home to about 200 bird species, including the papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler, and great blue turaco. The sanctuary is also a great place to see butterflies and eight kinds of primates, such as the grey-cheeked mangabey.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will go chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park.
Next, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is a popular stop on most tours. While you may see other safari groups, you are sure to spot many different animals. These may include giraffes, lions, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and elephants. Many visitors also come to see the park’s large number of birds, with about 611 species found here.
Later in the day, you will enjoy an evening boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This natural channel is 32 kilometers (20 miles) long and connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is a key part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Along the banks, you will see groups of hippos, buffaloes, and elephants, giving you great chances to watch wildlife.

After an early breakfast, you will go on a morning game drive to see the animals that live in the park, including lions, leopards, and other wildlife. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a great place for bird watchers, with over 500 bird species. Some of the birds you might see include the black bee-eater, 11 types of kingfishers, and several falcons, eagles, and other birds of prey. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s most special natural places. You will also have another game drive in the late afternoon.

Day 6

After breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park, listed as a World Heritage site, is known for being home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas. It is one of East Africa’s most well-known national parks. Covering 331 square kilometers, the park lies within steep mountain rainforests and is home to about 340 gorillas, making it Uganda’s top tourist attraction.

Day 7

You will start your day with a good breakfast to give you energy. Don’t forget to take your packed lunch with you. Then, head to the park headquarters, where you will get a briefing and be assigned to your Gorilla group. After that, you will set off into the forest for your Gorilla trek. The trek usually takes between 2 and 8 hours, depending on where the Gorillas are.
When you find the Gorillas, you will have up to one hour to watch and take pictures of them. After the trek, you will enjoy your packed lunch and receive your Gorilla trekking certificate. Finally, you will meet your guide and travel back to your lodge, ending your special Gorilla trekking experience.

After breakfast, you will travel to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Lake Bunyonyi means "place of many little birds" and is one of Uganda’s most beautiful lakes. This peaceful place, especially when the morning mist rises from the calm water, has become a top spot for travelers who want to relax while exploring Uganda.
The lake has several quiet places to stay on its islands, where you will mostly be joined by birds. Unlike many other lakes in East Africa, Lake Bunyonyi has no bilharzia, crocodiles, or hippos, making it a safe and worry-free place.
In the evening, you will enjoy a calm sunset boat cruise, visiting some of the lake’s 29 islands, including Akampane Island, also called the punishment island.

Day 9

After an early breakfast, you will travel to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is the only place in southern Uganda where you can see zebra and giraffe, both of which have been brought back successfully. Lake Mburo is also the only park in the country where you can spot impala, slender mongoose, and giant bush rat.
You might also see animals like leopard, topi, and eland during your visit. The park is a good place for bird watchers, with about 325 bird species, including the martial eagle, red-faced barbet, papyrus yellow warbler, and African finfoot.
You will go on a long game drive in the park, giving you a chance to see the many animals that live there. After the drive, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
