5-Day Lake Nakuru & Mara Safari

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your tour starts with a pick-up at 7:30 AM from your hotel in Nairobi or the airport. The drive to the Masai Mara will take about 5 to 6.5 hours with a scenic stopover at the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive in the Masai Mara shortly after noon and check into your lodge. Have a hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive.

After the game drive, we head back to the lodge or camp, arriving by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM. We will freshen up, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner, and spend the night at the lodge.

Mara National Reserve

Today's itinerary is flexible, and you can discuss it with your guide the previous evening to plan your schedule for the day.

You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full-day game drives around 9:00 AM with a packed lunch and return to the lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Otherwise, you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (this is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness a hunt and/or kill). Later, return to the accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit, and depart on an afternoon game drive with a packed lunch. You will stop at a picnic spot to have a packed lunch and later depart on a game drive until the park closes. Around 6:00 PM, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Around 8:00 AM, after a relaxed breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, which is about a 5.5-hour drive. You will stop at Lake Naivasha, take an optional boat ride and walk on Crescent Island. Upon arriving at your lodge in Nakuru, check in, have dinner, and relax for the day.

Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

After breakfast, we proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park with a packed lunch and conduct game drives until around 2:00 PM. We then continue to Nairobi, where we are expected to arrive around 5:30 PM at your hotel or the airport in Nairobi.
