Day 1

The Tour begins with a pickup at your hotel, then a visit to the Origins Centre in Johannesburg (not open on Sundays). After approximately two hours we drive approximately an hour to the Cradle of Humankind, where we will visit the Unesco World Heritage site of the Sterkfontein Caves, a paleoanthropological site where many famous skulls, bones, fossils and other ancient artifacts were discovered, such as stone-age tools. After lunch at one of the restaurants in the area, we proceed to Maropeng, a modern, interactive and globally awarded museum which charts the development of Humankind over millions of years. Here you can spend from one to five hours "returning to the place of origin" (the meaning of the Setswana word Maropeng) which focuses on the development of humans and our ancestors. From there, we drive back to Johannesburg.
