As far as names go, there are few that evoke the essence of Africa as vividly as the Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi. Picture vast expanses of steep mountains enveloped in dense, humid jungle, and you're on the right track. Spanning an impressive 331 square kilometers, this World Heritage-listed sanctuary, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, is one of the continent's oldest ecosystems. It has withstood the test of time, persevering through the last Ice Age when many other forests on the continent disappeared into history.

Start your day with a delicious breakfast, ensuring you're well-prepared for the adventures ahead. Grab your packed lunch and make your way to the nearby park headquarters, just a stone's throw away. Here, you'll receive a comprehensive briefing, be assigned to your respective Gorilla groups, and then trek into the forest. The duration of your trek through Bwindi can vary, spanning from 2 to 8 hours, contingent upon the Gorillas' movements.

Upon locating them, you'll spend up to 1 hour observing and photographing the gorillas. Following the trek, savor a well-deserved lunch and receive your official Gorilla trekking certificate. After, meet your guide and transfer back to the lodge.

Begin your day with a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese. This park hosts nearly 100 mammal species and over 600 bird types. You'll encounter large hippo schools, forest hogs, and Uganda kobs, often seen in the tourist villages of the scenic Mweya Peninsula, nestled by the Rwenzori Mountains.

Explore the isolated Ishasha Sector for tree-climbing lions, Maramagambo forest for diverse monkeys and birds, and crater lakes teeming with pink flamingos. Kyambura Gorges is home to habituated chimpanzees. Upon reaching Queen Elizabeth (Mweya Sector), enjoy an evening boat ride on the Kazinga Channel.

Start your day with breakfast in the African wilderness, overlooking the Savannah. Enjoy a second game drive to spot more wildlife, including lions, leopards, and various birds. Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts over 500 bird species, making it a bird-watcher's paradise.

After a 4 to 5-hour drive, you will transfer to Kigali and have a swamp walk at the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. Situated 6 kilometers to the south of the Kibale National Park visitor center in Kanyanchu (no park permit is required for this activity), Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary was established by a local development organization to safeguard the 4-square-kilometer Magombe Swamp. This swamp is home to approximately 200 bird species, with notable highlights including the papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler, and great blue turaco. Moreover, the sanctuary offers excellent opportunities for spotting butterflies and primates, featuring eight different primate species, including the grey-cheeked mangabey.

Start your day with a steaming cup of coffee or tea before making your way to the park headquarters. There, you'll receive a comprehensive briefing on the rules and regulations governing chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park. Following this, join the ranger guides for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience deep within the forest. While on the trail, the guides will impart knowledge about the various tree species that thrive in Kibale Forest as you listen for the distinctive calls of these elusive primates.

In addition to the chimpanzees, the area offers opportunities to encounter a variety of other primates, such as golden monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and pottos. You might see some of these. Afterward, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park for dinner and an overnight stay.

On this day, wake up early and have breakfast at 6:00 am. Afterward, your driver and the ranger guide will pick you up from the lodge to start your game drive at 6:30 am. During the drive, you will have the opportunity to see many animals such as lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, and various bird species, among others. After the game drive, which ends around 11:40 am, return to the lodge to relax, freshen up, and have lunch in preparation for the afternoon boat cruise.

During the boat cruise, you will have the chance to observe various Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, elephants along the banks of the Nile, as well as different beautiful birds, some singing in the trees, such as the Bee-eaters, the colored kingfishers, the shoe-bill stork, and many others. The boat ride will take you to the base/bottom of the Murchison Falls, where you will witness the mighty waterfalls.

After an early morning breakfast meal, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. This park holds the distinction of being the only place in southern Uganda where you can observe zebra and giraffe, both of which have been successfully reintroduced. Additionally, Lake Mburo National Park is the sole park in the country where you can spot impala, slender mongoose, and giant bush rat. Other wildlife you may encounter during your visit includes leopard, topi, and eland. The park is also a haven for bird enthusiasts, with approximately 325 species of birds, including the martial eagle, red-faced barbet, papyrus yellow warbler, and African finfoot.

You'll embark on an extensive game drive within the park, offering you the opportunity to witness the diverse wildlife that calls Lake Mburo National Park home. Afterward, you'll transfer to your accommodation facility for dinner and an overnight stay.
