Day 1

Start your day with a good breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, or after an early morning pickup from the airport. Our guide will meet and welcome you. A short but interesting city tour will give you a quick look at Kigali before your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park begins.
The name “Bwindi Impenetrable Forest” brings to mind the heart of Africa. Imagine steep mountains covered in thick, wet forest—that is what you will see. Covering 331 square kilometers, this World Heritage site is one of the oldest forests in Africa. It even survived the last Ice Age, while many other forests disappeared.
When you arrive, you will be welcomed at the lodge. There, you can relax and enjoy the wide views of the forest.

Day 2

Start your day with a good breakfast to get ready for the activities ahead. Pick up your packed lunch and walk to the nearby park headquarters. There, you will get a full briefing, be placed into your assigned gorilla group, and then begin the trek into the forest. The trek in Bwindi can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are.
Once you find them, you will spend up to 1 hour watching and taking photos of the gorillas. After the trek, enjoy your lunch and receive your official gorilla trekking certificate. Later, meet your guide and return to the lodge.

Day 3
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Boat Trip

Begin your day with a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese. This park is home to nearly 100 types of mammals and over 600 kinds of birds. You may see large groups of hippos, forest hogs, and Uganda kobs, often found in the tourist areas of the Mweya Peninsula, near the Rwenzori Mountains.
Once you arrive in Queen Elizabeth (Mweya Sector), enjoy an evening boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga Channel is a natural waterway that links Lake Edward and Lake George. It is a major feature in the Great Rift Valley. Along the channel, you’ll see hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and many birds. The large groups of pelicans and birds flying above make for a special scene.
After the boat ride, return to your lodge and enjoy a quiet night in the middle of the African savannah.

Day 4

Start your day with breakfast in the African wilderness, looking out over the Savannah. Head out for a second game drive to spot more animals, including lions, leopards, and many types of birds. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to over 500 bird species, making it a great place for bird lovers.
After about a 4 to 5-hour drive, you will travel to Kibale and stop for a swamp walk at the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. This sanctuary is located 6 kilometers south of the Kibale National Park visitor center in Kanyanchu. No park permit is needed for this activity. Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary was started by a local group to protect the 4-square-kilometer Magombe Swamp.
The swamp is home to about 200 bird species, including the papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler, and great blue turaco. You may also see many butterflies and primates. The area has eight different types of primates, including the grey-cheeked mangabey.

Day 5

Start your day with a hot cup of coffee or tea before heading to the park headquarters. There, you will get a full briefing on the rules and guidelines for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park. After the briefing, join the ranger guides for a chimpanzee tracking experience deep in the forest. As you walk, the guides will teach you about the different types of trees in Kibale Forest while you listen for the calls of the chimpanzees.
Along the way, you may also see other primates, such as golden monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and pottos. You might spot some of these during the walk.
After the activity, you will travel to Murchison Falls National Park for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6

On this day, wake up early and have breakfast at 6:00 am. Afterward, your driver and the ranger guide will pick you up from the lodge to start your game drive at 6:30 am. During the drive, you will have the chance to see many animals such as lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, and different types of birds. After the game drive, which ends around 11:40 am, return to the lodge to relax, freshen up, and have lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise.
During the boat cruise, you will see Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants along the riverbanks, as well as different birds, some singing in the trees. These may include bee-eaters, colorful kingfishers, the shoebill stork, and others. The boat ride will take you to the bottom of Murchison Falls, where you will see the powerful waterfalls.

After enjoying your breakfast, begin your final morning game drive in the park. After the game drive, you will continue your journey to Entebbe, passing through Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Here, you will have dinner and spend the night. Along the way, there are optional activities available at an extra cost, and your guide will share a list of these activities for you to choose from.

Day 8
Visit Lake Mburo National Park
Visit Lake Mburo National Park
After an early breakfast, you will travel to Lake Mburo National Park. This is the only park in southern Uganda where you can see zebras and giraffes, both of which have been successfully reintroduced. It is also the only park in the country where you can find impala, slender mongoose, and giant bush rat. Other animals you might see include leopards, topi, and eland.
The park is a good place for bird lovers too, with around 325 bird species. Some of the birds you may spot include the martial eagle, red-faced barbet, papyrus yellow warbler, and African finfoot.
You will go on a long game drive in the park, giving you the chance to see the different animals that live here. After the drive, you will go to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Following breakfast, you will travel to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. The name Lake Bunyonyi means "place of many little birds." It is known as one of the most peaceful and beautiful lakes in Uganda. In the early morning, you may see mist rising from the calm waters, creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It has become a favorite place for visitors who want to rest while exploring Uganda.
Lake Bunyonyi has quiet lodges on its far islands where you can enjoy nature and bird songs in peace. Unlike many other lakes in East Africa, Lake Bunyonyi has no bilharzia, crocodiles, or hippos, making it a safe place for swimming and relaxing.
In the evening, you will go on a sunset boat cruise. You will visit some of the lake's 29 islands, including Akampene Island, which is also called the punishment island.
