Start your day with a good breakfast at your Kigali hotel or after an early-morning pickup from the airport, where our experienced guide will meet you. A short but interesting city tour will prepare you for your journey to the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Few places capture the spirit of Africa like Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Imagine steep mountains covered by thick, wet jungle—that is Bwindi. Covering 331 square kilometers, this World Heritage site is one of Africa’s oldest forests. It has survived for a long time, even through the last Ice Age when many other forests disappeared.

When you arrive, you will be warmly welcomed at the lodge, where you can relax and enjoy the wide views of the forest.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with a good breakfast to get ready for the adventures ahead. Take your packed lunch and go to the nearby park headquarters, just a short walk away. There, you will get a full briefing, be placed into your gorilla groups, and then begin your trek into the forest. The trek can take from 2 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are.

When you find the gorillas, you will spend up to one hour watching and taking pictures of them. After the trek, enjoy your lunch and receive your official gorilla trekking certificate. You will spend your afternoon at leisure at the lodge and opt for any optional activities in the evening if you'd like.

Depending on the time of your flight to Nairobi, we will transfer you from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kigali International Airport at least 2 hours before check-in. When you arrive in Nairobi, we will meet you and take you to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will travel to Masai Mara National Reserve. When people think of Africa, they often imagine the Masai Mara. This large area of gentle grassland, dotted with flat-topped acacia trees and crossed by big herds of zebras and wildebeests, shows what many picture as the African landscape. This famous view really lives up to its reputation.

The Masai Mara includes the main reserve, about a dozen community conservancies, several group ranches, and many Maasai villages. It is not only the highlight of many trips to Kenya but often the main reason travelers choose to visit the country.

In the evening, you will go on a game drive in the park. Later, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Or it might be seeing a group of lions moving across the open plains, their manes waving in the breeze.

No matter what moves you, you are now entering one of the world’s best places for watching wildlife. The Serengeti covers 14,763 square kilometers and is known for its top predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, along with many elephants. The Serengeti is also great for bird watchers, with over 500 kinds of birds to see.

You’ll start the day with breakfast, then head to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There, you will reach the crater rim, which is one of the largest unbroken calderas in the world. This natural wonder is not filled with water but is home to many wild animals. You will enjoy the view as you watch animals grazing and hunting in the open grasslands, swamps, and woodlands on the crater floor. You might see hippos, flamingos, elephants, hyenas, lions, and even the rare black rhinos.

Water is very important here, with springs and streams that support the plants and animals. At 3 pm, your visit to this special place will end, and you will travel to Arusha, marking the end of your trip.
