Start your day with a good breakfast at your hotel in Kigali. Our friendly tour guide will meet you there. A short but interesting city tour will help you get to know the area before you begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

The name “Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi” brings to mind the heart of Africa. Picture high mountains covered in thick, warm jungle, and you’ll have the right idea. This forest covers 331 square kilometers and is one of the oldest in Africa. It is even older than the last Ice Age, a time when many other forests disappeared.

When you arrive, you’ll be warmly welcomed at the lodge. You can relax and enjoy the wide view of the forest around you.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi, Transfer to Kigali & End of Trip

Start your day with a good breakfast to make sure you’re ready for the day ahead. Take your packed lunch and walk to the nearby park headquarters. There, you will get a short briefing, be assigned to your gorilla group, and begin your trek into the forest. The walk in Bwindi can take between 2 and 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are.

When you find them, you will have up to one hour to watch them and take pictures. After the trek, enjoy your lunch and receive your official gorilla trekking certificate. Later, meet your guide and travel back to Kigali. You will be dropped off at the airport or your hotel, marking the end of your trip.
