Day 1

Embark on a captivating adventure starting at 6 am as your safari guide picks you up from Arusha. Together, you'll journey to Ngorongoro, where you'll descend into the awe-inspiring crater for an unforgettable game drive.

Known as the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater stands as the largest intact crater globally. Its geological history dates back to around 2 million years ago when the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, leading to the collapse of its walls. The sunken volcano floor formed a natural enclosure, surrounded by towering walls reaching a height of 600 meters.

Now spanning over 19 kilometers in width, the Ngorongoro Crater boasts diverse landscapes, including expansive acacia forests, hippo-filled swamps, and vast open grasslands. These varied habitats are home to a thriving population of over 30,000 animals, featuring elephants, warthogs, flamingos, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros, and all the predatory cats.
