Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with a good breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, or after an early morning pickup from the airport. Our experienced tour guide will be there to welcome you. A short but meaningful city tour will give you a nice introduction before you begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Few names bring Africa to mind as clearly as the Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi. Imagine steep mountains covered in thick, warm jungle, and you’ll have the right idea. This forest covers 331 square kilometers and is one of the oldest ecosystems in Africa. It has survived for thousands of years, even through the Ice Age, when many other forests disappeared.

When you arrive, you’ll be warmly welcomed at the lodge. You can relax and enjoy the wide views of the forest around you.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Start your day with a good breakfast to make sure you're ready for the day ahead. Take your packed lunch and walk to the nearby park headquarters. There, you will receive a short briefing, be assigned to your gorilla group, and then begin your trek into the forest. The trek through Bwindi can take between 2 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are.

When you find them, you will spend up to one hour watching and taking pictures of the gorillas. After the trek, enjoy your lunch and receive your official gorilla trekking certificate. Then, meet your guide and return to your lodge.
