Day 1

Safari in the Chobe National Park

Safari in the Chobe National Park

At 07h30, you will be picked up from your lodging in Victoria Falls for the 1-hour transfer to Chobe. Your Botswana guide will meet you at the Kazungula Border Post. You will be taken on a short drive to the Chobe River jetty where you board the boat at 09h30 for a 3-hour boat game cruise into the Chobe National Park.

The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic aquatic birdlife and wildlife as well as scores of elephant and African buffalo that make their way down to the river. The boat cruise ends at 12h30, in time for lunch at the Chobe Safari Lodge.

After lunch, there is a chance to do last-minute shopping in Kasane, as there are no shops within the park. You then depart on an afternoon game drive. This is the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river. Arrive at camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the campfire and dinner under the stars.

Day 2

Another Game-Viewing Safari in the Chobe National Park

Another Game-Viewing Safari in the Chobe National Park

You are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into your wash basins and a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and some cereal, you head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats as they are still active and the chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning, you return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to take a refreshing bush bucket shower.

After packing up, you leave the camp for your last activity which is usually another game drive or boat cruise. You will be dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula at 14h30. We arrive at your accommodation in Victoria Falls or Livingstone between 16h30 and 17h00.
