Renowned globally for its flamingoes, the alkaline Lake Nakuru is celebrated as one of the world's natural wonders. Presently serving as a rhino sanctuary, it hosts a population exceeding 40 black and 60 white rhinos. Yet, the flamingos remain the primary allure, creating a breathtaking deep pink band along the lake shore, sometimes accommodating nearly 2 million of these elegant birds. After arriving in time for lunch, you will check-in, take lunch, and delve into an afternoon game drive, immersing yourself in the park's diverse wildlife. You'll conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge, surrounded by the natural wonders of Lake Nakuru National Park.

You can also opt for an optional balloon safari and experience the breathtaking beauty of Masai Mara from above with a hot air balloon safari. This unique perspective allows for panoramic views of the landscapes and wildlife. You'll proceed for an unlimited game drive as you visit the Mara River is not only a crucial part of the Great Migration but also a vital water source for the reserve's wildlife. Crocodile and hippo populations are often spotted along the riverbanks.

After attending a short lecture describing the archeological digs and geology of the gorge, you'll have time to visit the small museum. While it's a lengthy journey, the game drives within and between parks can offer unexpectedly incredible wildlife encounters. You will conclude the day with a relaxing dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge, nestled in the natural surroundings of the Serengeti, ready for the adventures that await in this renowned national park.

As you ascend the hillside, an expansive view unfolds before you— the vast Serengeti, aptly named "endless plains" in Kiswahili. Encompassing 6,900 square miles (18,000 square km), this park hosts over 2 million large animals, including a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson's gazelles. The abundance of prey attracts formidable predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, following the migrating herds throughout the park. After breakfast, you'll embark on a journey across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park, where a game drive awaits. Spanning only 205 square miles, this captivating park is celebrated for its picturesque beauty and lush acacia forest, housing troops of baboons and blue monkeys amidst giant fig and mahogany trees. The park is also home to a diverse array of wildlife, including buffalos, giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a Hippo lake teeming with hippos. Renowned for its rich birdlife, with over 400 species, Lake Manyara offers a unique opportunity to spot the ground hornbill and crested eagle. The park is famed for its climbing lions and flamingos along the lake shore. The landscapes differ dramatically from the Serengeti, providing stunning views of the lake shore with giraffes and buffalos in the foreground, and flamingos and flat plains in the horizon— an ideal setting for remarkable photo opportunities. You'll transfer to Arusha or the airport in the afternoon.
