½-Day Vulture Experience and Baobab Tree Safari Zimbabwe

Hotel pick-up and drop-off are included, and airport transfers can be arranged. We begin with a slow safari past historic landmarks in Victoria Falls before the track slips into the quiet bush, following old wildlife routes toward a panoramic viewpoint above the gorge and the Zambezi River. After taking in the sweeping scenery, we make a brief stop at the ancient baobab tree—well over a thousand years old and towering above the savannah. From there, a short walk leads down a dirt pathway to a secluded hideout shaded by branches. After a briefing on the struggle of these endangered birds, the vulture guide carries a sack of meat scraps to a red patch of earth. For an hour, vultures have been circling in from miles away, waiting in the trees. Suddenly they drop, wings beating with a deep whoosh as more than a hundred birds descend. When the frenzy settles and they rise back into the wild, we continue our safari and return you to your hotel.
