The day begins early with pick-up from your hotel or the airport. After a briefing by your safari guide, you’ll leave for the Masai Mara. Your first stop of the day is the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, from where you can enjoy perfect views of the Great Rift, itself a subject of intrigue among geographers.
Snake through beautiful sceneries via the floor of the Rift Valley and up the Escarpment, arriving at Drunken Elephant Mara Camp in time for check-in and a delicious lunch. After a brief afternoon rest/siesta, you’re all set for your first game drive in the Masai Mara. Drunken Elephant has consistently featured as an eco-friendly and affordable tented lodge.
You'll catch the golden African sunset over the vast Maasai Mara plains as daylight fades into night, a perfect moment to capture on camera.

Early Morning-Afternoon Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve
The day begins with a cup of freshly brewed Kenyan coffee or tea, accompanied by a sumptuous selection of treats. You will leave the lodge with a picnic lunch box since you’ll be on a full-day game drive.
Your guide will ensure you get the best of the Mara’s diversity, from the Big Five to the diverse bird species, both endemic and migratory. Perhaps the more elusive residents of the Mara include leopards, black and white rhinos, and cheetahs. However, expert guides rely on their extensive knowledge and rapport with other guides to ensure the spotting of animals in the Mara.
At lunchtime, the guide will set up a picnic lunch site for you to enjoy and continue your game drive well into late afternoon.
You’ll return to the camp for a freshen-up, refreshments, and later dinner, followed by an overnight stay.

From the Mara Savanah to the fresh-water Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, it's time to move on to your next destination: Lake Naivasha. This serene freshwater lake supports thousands of people in the surrounding area through agriculture and tourism-related activities.
You will arrive at Elsamere Lodge around lunchtime for check-in, followed by a buffet lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat trip and visit Crescent Island, home to Maasai giraffes and other wildlife.
For conservationists, Elsamere Lodge is a special place. It's the home where Joy Adamson raised Penny the leopard, and inspired the story of Elsa, the little lioness who changed conservation forever. Staying here and buying items from the gift shop supports the Elsa Trust conservation and education programs in various parts of Kenya.
In the evening, enjoy high tea while watching a short film on Joy Adamson's life and work, followed by a guided tour of the on-site museum.
