Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

Arrival in Arusha

You will be met at the airport by our representative, who will provide a welcome briefing and information about the country. Then, you will be driven 50 km from Kilimanjaro International Airport to The Charity Hotel in Arusha, where you will overnight and relax, ready for the next day of adventures.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be collected from your accommodation in Arusha by your personal safari guide. The drive to Tarangire is on a good tarmac road across the Maasai plain with scattered acacia trees. You will also pass many Maasai in their colorful dress walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding their cattle and driving donkey carts.

Tarangire National Park is known for its large elephant herds and is home to huge baobab trees, set amid beautiful landscapes. You will experience the seasonal swamps, savannah and the Tarangire River in search of many animals, including zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes and warthogs. It's possible you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or a leopard watching and relaxing in the tree above. After lunch, you will have an evening game drive, then drive back to the main gate to check out and head to your hotel.

Day 3

Ngorongoro

After an early breakfast, you will drive through the Rift Valley to the cooler region of the Ngorongoro Highlands. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest volcanic caldera, approximately 264 km² wide and 610 m deep, and is known for its variety of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, buffalo, leopard, elephant, and rhino). In addition to the Big Five, the variety of springs attracts animals such as wildebeests, gazelles, warthogs, reedbucks, waterbucks, and more than 500 bird species. At the picnic site, you will have lunch before enjoying some more game viewing in the crater. You will leave the crater in the evening and return to the hotel.

Day 4

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park

In the morning, after breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 120 km west of Arusha. The park's namesake is a shallow salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and buffalo, and, with some luck, a lion relaxing in a tree or a leopard. Then, in the evening, you will return to Arusha.
