Arusha to ndutu
The migration safari commences at 8 am on the first day, with pick-up from your Arusha hotel. Heading towards the Ndutu region, the 5.5-hour drive covers 260 kms. After approximately two hours, you'll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), witnessing the landscape transition from hilly forests to vast plains and lush green grasslands.
Upon arrival in Ndutu, a half-day game drive awaits, with a convenient stop for a picnic lunch. The sweeping grasslands gradually merge into the Serengeti, forming a crucial part of the route for the annual migration of over 2 million wildebeests, along with thousands of zebra, antelope, and gazelle. Between December and April, during the peak migration season, these fertile plains transform into calving grounds and nurseries for the great migration.
This season attracts an array of predators, drawn to the vulnerable young wildebeest, making for thrilling game drives amidst the natural spectacle of the Ndutu region.
