Hopefully, your flight will land early in Entebbe. Our driver-guide will pick you up from Entebbe Airport and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison Falls and the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national park, where you will have the chance to view lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffalos, and elephants. You will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles.

For birders, Murchison Falls boasts 450 bird species, including the elusive shoebill stork, dwarf kingfisher, white-thighed hornbill, and Goliath heron. En route, stop at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for your first Big 5 experience, where you will have an hour of rhino tracking. Another stop will be in Masindi, where you can enjoy your lunch. Continue to the park and check in at your accommodation to relax for the evening.

Murchison Game Drive and Launch Boat Trip to the Base of the Falls

After an early breakfast, tour the Northern section of Murchison, which has a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs and lions, leopards, and various bird species. Return to your accommodation for lunch, and then go on a boat trip to the base of the falls. This trip is said to be the highlight of the safari in Murchison Falls since it allows you to get up close to the animal species in the water. Cruise past huge hippo pods, crocodiles, bathing buffalos, and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty waterfalls.

You will have an opportunity to take thousands of pictures. You can also proceed for a hike (optional) to the top of the falls. The hike is strenuous, but the thrill of reaching the top is unforgettable. Miss it only if you must! Return to your accommodation afterward.

Transfer to Entebbe and Departure

Be up early, have breakfast, and then drive to the top of the falls (if you didn’t hike) to enjoy the spectacular view. Thereafter, depart for Kampala and connect to Entebbe Airport for your outbound flight back home. Your lunch will be en route, and you will reach the airport in the late afternoon.
