Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

On the first day, your guide will pick you up from your accommodation early in the morning to take you to Tarangire National Park where you will do a full-day game drive. Tarangire has a diverse landscape, with nine vegetation zones. Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in Africa) dot the landscape. The Tarangire River that meanders through the park attracts an abundance of wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and a variety of colorful birds. The park is very famous for having the greatest elephant population in Tanzania, and during a safari there you will have the chance to see many families of elephants interacting. You will stop for a picnic lunch in the observatory inside the park where you can see animals drinking water from the river, and sometimes even a hungry lion on the hunt. After lunch, you will continue your game drive until the late afternoon when you head to your campsite for dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, depart from your campsite and head to the Ngorongoro Crater entrance. Descend 600 meters (2,000 feet) into the crater floor for an exciting morning game drive in one of the world’s most wildlife-dense areas, home to about 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining rhinos. With its year-round water supply and lush vegetation, the crater supports an incredible variety of wildlife, from wildebeest and zebras to giant elephants and hippos. It’s also known for its high concentration of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing with an afternoon game drive. In the afternoon, ascend the crater rim and begin your journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be transferred directly to the airport for your onward flight, ending your adventure with comfort and convenience.
