Day 1

Pick-up from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Pick-up from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

You will be picked up by one of our driver guides from your hotel in Kampala and start on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the morning at around 6:00 am after breakfast. Along the way, you will make a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. Then after you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in a journey that will last 7-8 hours. Upon the arrival you will check in Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, have dinner and sleep to wait for the next adventure.

Day 2

Gorilla trekking and community visit

Gorilla trekking and community visit

You will wake up in the morning for breakfast and set off for gorilla trekking experience, which is the main highlight of this tour. With your packed lunch, you will be led by a game ranger who will provide you with the brief rules and regulations and also take you through the thick forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once you come across them, you will observe as they are doing their daily activities. The trek will last for approximately 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on the location and movement of the gorillas. Once found, you will be allowed a maximum of 1 hour interaction with these primates and after, you will for the lodge where you will relax and wait for the next activity. The next activity will be community visit which will provide you with the opportunity to meet the Bakiga local people and the Batwa to observe their behaviors and cultures. Here, you can participate in their traditional dances and tales. After you will return to the hotel for dinner and sleep.

Day 3

Forest nature walk and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Forest nature walk and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast in the morning, you will start your guided forest walk through the lush forest where you get an opportunity to observe a lot of birds and animals such as monkeys, forest buffaloes, and so many others. The walk will be guided by a knowledgeable guide who will show and also tell you about the vegetation and the types of trees plus their names in that forest. The walk will last for 3-4 hours and after which you will return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch and lunch time relaxation, you will set off to Queen Elizabeth National park via Ishasha sector and lucky enough, you shall get a chance to see the tree climbing lions. You will reach and check in Buffalo Safari Lodge where you will have dinner and over night sleep.

Day 4

Game drive and after lunch boat cruise

Game drive and after lunch boat cruise

You will do a morning game drive through the rich biodiversity of habitats of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park contains- nearly 100 types of mammals and 600 diverse birds. Some of the wildlife include warthogs, oversized forest hog, buffalo, delightfully horned Uganda Kob, extraordinary aquatic sitatunga antelope, waterbuck, elephants, lions and leopards. After close to 3 hours of game drive, you will return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch. After Lunch, you will have a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. Kazinga Channel alone is said to contain the world’s largest concentration of hippos and plenty of water birds, and a big number of crocodiles. You after will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
