Day 2
Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
You'll be picked up by our driver-guide from your hotel and proceed towards Mikumi National Park. It is the most accessible park to Dar es Salaam and lies in the shadow of the Uluguru Mountains, Rubeho Mountains, Udzungwa Mountains, and the Rift Valley escarpment to the southwest. At the heart of Mikumi is the fertile Mkata River floodplain. After lunch at the lodge, you'll proceed on the afternoon game drive at Mikumi National Park. Mikumi National Park lies at a six-hour drive from Dar Es Salaam and is Tanzania's fourth largest national park. The open horizons and abundant wildlife draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti plains, but its location close to Tanzania's largest city makes Mikumi more easily accessible. The park has a great variety of animals: elephants, buffalo, zebras, and giraffes are relatively easy to spot, as well as lions mating and many hippos in the resident hippo pool!
Late, you'll transfer back to Camp Bastian for an overnight stay.

In the park, you will have a chance to see an impressive number of wild animals, including a large family of elephants, giraffes, impala antelope, lions, wildebeest, buffalo, and a large number of zebras, as well as an assortment of wild birds and crocodiles. Later in the afternoon, you will stop at a resting point for lunch and a cool drink. Then, you'll proceed with your game drive until late evening. You will then return to the campsite for dinner and your overnight stay. Camp Bastian mid-range.

Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park Hike in Udzungwa- Sanje Waterfall
After an early breakfast, you'll drive from Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park with your packed lunch box.
There are no paved roads in this national park, which means it’s perfect for shorter and longer hikes. The four-hour hike to the Sanje waterfalls is both challenging and refreshing, as you hike up the mountain, but you can reward yourself with a plunge at the bottom of the waterfall. Along the way, you might just spot one of those rare monkeys in the trees or see elephant tracks (of so-called mountain elephants). Keep in mind that it can be hot during midday, but if you stay in the shade and hydrated, this is a great walk. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Hondo Hondo Udizungwa Forest Tented Camp.

Ruaha National Park is the third-largest national park in Tanzania. Besides, you might catch a glimpse of lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, elands, sable antelopes, jackals, or the rare African wild dog. Game drives are special, as you drive through an untouched ecosystem in this relatively quiet but stunning park! Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Ruaha River Lodge.

Day 6
Ruaha National Park
Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, you'll enjoy a full day game drive inside the park.
Ruaha National Park has a mood of its own-a rugged, remote, almost spiritual quality embodied by bulbous silhouettes of ancient baobabs that haunt its semi-arid plains and rocky slopes. This vast and magnificent plateau, at mainly 900m – 1,100m high, is also home to kudus, gazelles, ostriches, cheetahs, and roan and sable antelopes— while the banks of the great Ruaha River to the east provide a perfect habitat for crocodiles, hippos, and a wide array of birdlife.
After a full day game drive at the Ruaha National Park, you'll return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
