Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

From Arusha, you will depart to Tarangire early morning. Tarangire National Park is one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems, offering a unique and authentic safari experience. Located just a few hours’ drive from Arusha, the park is best known for its vast elephant population, iconic baobab trees, and diverse landscapes.

The Tarangire River, which flows through the park, acts as a vital water source during the dry season (June to October), attracting a high concentration of wildlife. Visitors can expect to see large herds of elephants, along with lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and an impressive variety of antelopes. The park is also a bird lover’s paradise, boasting over 500 bird species.

Tarangire is less crowded, offering a more intimate and peaceful wildlife viewing experience. Its rolling hills, seasonal swamps, termite mounds, and ancient baobabs create a dramatic and picturesque setting that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.

Ngorongoro Crater via Masai then back to Arusha for departure

On the last day of your safari, you will have an early breakfast and then start your safari to descend into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq. km with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs, and Lions are found in plenty. Enjoy the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, and you will begin a steep ascent to the top exit of the crater. This is the last leg of your safari, with a 3-hour drive back to Arusha. You will pass by a Masai Boma before proceeding to your preferred location in Arusha in the evening. With an incredible experience and lots of memories to cherish, this great moment.
