3-Day Drive into the Wild ~ Nyerere Safari & River Magic

Dar Es Salaam - Nyerere National Park

At 07:00 hrs, meet your private safari driver-guide at your preferred pick-up location in Dar es Salaam and depart in a 4x4 safari Jeep for a scenic drive to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours through beautiful countryside landscapes, valleys, villages, and mountain scenery.

Upon arrival at the camp, enjoy a hot lunch followed by time to relax and unwind at leisure.

Later in the afternoon, at around 16:00 hrs, embark on a boat safari along the Rufiji River until sunset. This experience offers excellent opportunities to spot hippos, crocodiles, and colorful birdlife while enjoying the spectacular African sunset.

Thereafter, return to the camp for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay in the heart of the wilderness.

Nyerere National Park-Full Guided Game Drive

Enjoy breakfast at the camp before departing with your packed lunch for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park.

This vast and pristine wilderness is home to an extraordinary variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, and the rare African wild dog. As one of Africa’s largest protected wildlife areas, the park offers spectacular scenery and diverse ecosystems ranging from open savannahs and woodland to lakes and river channels.

Throughout the day, enjoy excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography while exploring the untouched landscapes with your experienced safari guide. A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic location within the park before continuing your afternoon game drive.

Later in the afternoon, return to the camp for relaxation at leisure, followed by dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the peaceful African wilderness.

Walking Safari & Game Drives in Nyerere National Park - Dar Es Salaam

Early morning is the best time to experience the African bush on foot. After tea or coffee, you will depart for a guided 2-hour walking safari within the wildlife-controlled area of Nyerere National Park accompanied by an experienced ranger guide.

The walking safari focuses on discovering the smaller details of the wilderness, including animal tracks, footprints, plants, trees, birds, and the natural sounds of the bush, offering a unique and immersive safari experience.

Thereafter, return to the lodge for breakfast before checking out and departing with your packed lunch for the drive back to Dar es Salaam. Arrival is expected in the early afternoon, followed by drop-off at your residence, hotel, or airport.

This will mark the end of your memorable safari experience with us.
