Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your Tanzanian journey begins at 08:00 AM as we depart the city of Arusha, leaving the urban bustle behind for the wild open plains of the Maasai Steppe. The scenic 2-hour drive takes you through vibrant local communities and vast landscapes, serving as a beautiful introduction to the heart of the Northern Circuit.

Upon entering Tarangire National Park, you are immediately greeted by the park's iconic silhouette: hundreds of ancient, "upside-down" Baobab trees towering over the golden savanna. Known as the "Elephant Empire," Tarangire is world-renowned for its massive elephant families that congregate along the life-giving Tarangire River. Your expert guide will navigate the diverse trails, tracking lions, leopards, and large herds of buffalo as they move through the acacia woodlands.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

Start your day with a hearty, sunrise breakfast at your lodge before we begin the ascent into the misty mountain forests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most spectacular natural wonders on Earth, offering a unique "natural enclosure" for Africa's most iconic wildlife.

Once on the floor, you’ll find yourself in a 260 square kilometer "Garden of Eden" where wildlife thrives in a self-contained paradise. You will traverse open grasslands, acacia forests, and soda lakes, all surrounded by the dramatic backdrop of the crater rim.

This is one of the few places in Africa where you have a high probability of spotting the entire Big Five lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and the critically endangered Black Rhino all in a single morning. The wildlife here is remarkably close-at-hand, making for incredible photography of prides of lions, massive bull elephants, and the pink clouds of flamingos on Lake Magadi.

Day 3

Lake Manyara National Park & Departure

Lake Manyara National Park & Departure

After a leisurely breakfast, we head to Lake Manyara National Park, a strikingly beautiful sanctuary nestled at the foot of the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though compact, this park offers a lush, green contrast to the open savannas of the previous days.

Your journey begins in the dense groundwater forest, where ancient mahogany and fig trees create a tropical canopy. This is the playground of massive baboon troops and playful blue monkeys. As we move toward the center of the park, the forest opens into acacia woodlands and the expansive, shimmering shores of the alkaline lake. The scenery is constantly shifting, providing a stunning backdrop for your final game drive.

In the afternoon, we enjoy a final game drive as we exit the park. We then begin our drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. As we drop you at your hotel or the airport, your unforgettable 3-day Tanzanian adventure with Nature Joy Discoveries comes to an end.
