Your gorilla trekking adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or guesthouse in Entebbe. To make the most of your day and avoid city traffic, we recommend an early departure around 7:00 AM.

Enjoy a scenic drive through the Ugandan countryside, arriving at your lodge in time for a hot lunch. After settling in, we head out for an afternoon game drive, exploring the park in search of its diverse wildlife—including antelope, buffalo, elephants, and a variety of bird species—all set against the backdrop of stunning savannah landscapes.

After the walk, you’ll enjoy lunch en route as you continue your journey south through the scenic Ankole farmlands. Keep an eye out for the striking long-horned Ankole cattle and local farmers transporting bananas (matoke)—often balancing them skillfully on bicycles or carrying them to nearby markets.

As you approach Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Rushaga sector), and if the weather is clear, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of three or even four of the majestic Virunga volcanoes—a perfect photo opportunity.

Led by experienced, armed UWA ranger guides, you’ll venture into the heart of the forest in search of these incredible primates. Once located, you’ll spend a magical hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat from a respectful distance of 7 to 10 meters. It’s a truly unforgettable wildlife encounter as you witness them go about their daily lives—feeding, playing, grooming, and resting.
