Day 1

We hope you arrive before 1:00 PM E.A.T. Upon arrival, you will go through immigration, collect your luggage, and proceed to the arrivals exit Lobby for guests. Our assigned professional English-speaking tour driver-guide will welcome you, and we will begin our transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where we will spend the night. This sanctuary is a successful conservation effort aimed at saving the near-extinct rhino population in Uganda, offering visitors a chance to encounter rhinos.
*Optional (extra cost): If you arrive early will be picked up from a hotel, you can go on a guided nature walk. Otherwise, we will check in, rest, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 2
Shoebill excursion, followed by rhino tracking, and then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park

Rise early for the 6:00 AM shoebill trek and canoe ride through Lugogo Swamp, where you'll have the chance to spot the prehistoric shoebill stork and other bird species, as well as enjoy the stunning Ugandan sunrise over the swamp.
After the excursion, we'll return for a quick breakfast before heading out to track rhinos. Following the rhino tracking, we will have a hot lunch at Zziwa and then depart for Murchison Falls National Park. This park features the powerful Murchison Falls and the expansive plains of Uganda's largest national park, home to lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants, among others. We will also make a detour to visit the top of the falls before heading to our accommodation.

Exploring the Magical Murchison National Park with Morning and Afternoon Game Drives
Today offers a full day of game viewing in Murchison Falls National Park, home to a variety of wildlife such as buffalo, Jackson's hartebeests, elephants, lions, giraffes, leopards, and hyenas, among others. These animals are spread across the savannah grasslands, either grazing or hunting, making the park ideal for game viewing and driving. To avoid a long return drive to the lodge, we can have a hot lunch at Red Chilli. After lunch, we'll continue with our game viewing. Following an exciting day, we will return to the lodge to freshen up, have dinner, and stay overnight.
* You can opt for an 11 AM boat trip to the base of the falls, with an additional opportunity to hike to the top of the falls.

Day 4

Today, after breakfast, we will embark on a transfer to the edge of Kibale Forest National Park, where we will spend the night. The drive is long but incredibly scenic, passing through villages, lush green countryside, and hills dotted with tea plantations typical of this region of Uganda. The beautiful scenery will captivate you throughout the journey.
Upon arrival at our accommodation, we'll check in and then head out to explore the Kibale crater lakes. You'll marvel at the numerous small lakes surrounded by gentle hills and the stunning views. The hike to Lake Nkuruba offers encounters with various species of primates and birds. You'll also have the opportunity to meet and interact with local people as you walk through their villages and enjoy panoramic views of the Kibale area. We will return for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5

Start the day with an early breakfast at your lodge before heading into Kibale Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. Accompanied by a ranger guide, you'll trek through the forest in search of our closest primate relatives, observing their behavior up close in their natural habitat.
After the trek, enjoy a leisurely lunch, followed by a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. This community-run project is a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers, offering sightings of various primates, colorful birds, and unique plant species.
After visiting Bigodi, we will immediately transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a journey of about two hours. Upon arrival, we will have some time for game viewing. During the game drive, look out for wildlife such as lions, the elusive leopard, herds of elephants, and buffaloes, among others.

Day 6

Rise early for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Keep an eye out for Cape buffalo, herds of elephants, lions, and the elusive leopards, among others. Afterward, we'll head to the Ishasha sector in southern Queen Elizabeth National Park to search for tree-climbing lions. There's about a 70% chance of spotting these lions, although they can be difficult to find, especially when they are hunting in the grasslands. If we do spot them, it will be a picturesque and memorable sight. From Ishasha, we'll continue our journey to our accommodation on the edge of Bwindi National Park. Upon arrival, we'll check in and rest, preparing for tomorrow’s gorilla experience.

Enjoy breakfast and proceed to the ranger's post. There, you will receive a briefing from a ranger-guide about the rules and guidelines for gorilla trekking. Following the briefing, venture into the forest for your unforgettable encounter. The rainforest's beauty is breathtaking, featuring steep, densely forested landscapes crossed by numerous animal trails accessible to visitors. The duration of the trek (4-8 hours) and the terrain depend on the gorillas' movements. Once you find a gorilla group, you will have one hour to observe these gentle yet endangered giants, an experience that will stay with you forever. After the trek, return to the lodge to relax and recuperate.
*Optional (extra cost): If you finish early and are still energetic, you can ask your guide to arrange a community visit or a short nature walk.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then check out. We will transfer to Gatuna Border Post. At Gatuna, our Rwanda-based Tour Driver-guide will meet you, taking over from our Uganda-based counterpart. You will be driven to Kigali, where you can be dropped off either at the airport or at your booked hotel.
