Pick up from your hotel ride takes you from the lush, green southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro to the drier, more arid western side of the mountain. You’ll begin by cycling through fertile landscapes dotted with coffee and banana plantations before transitioning into the vast open plains and acacia woodlands of the west. These plains offer breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and support a diverse array of wildlife. While Moshi is home to the Chagga people, the West Kilimanjaro plains are inhabited by the nomadic Maasai, who coexist harmoniously with the surrounding wildlife, giving the region its name—the Maasai Lands. Your journey will take you along a mix of dirt and tarmac roads, culminating at the Olpopongi Maasai Village.

Day 2

After breakfast, you’ll set off towards Longido, beginning with a 9km ride to the Enduement Wildlife Management Area at Ngasurai Gate. From here, you will cycle along a scenic wildlife corridor, traversing an adventurous dirt road that winds through breathtaking landscapes teeming with diverse flora and fauna. As you continue, you’ll experience the raw beauty of the open savannah, with the chance to spot wildlife along the way. The ride culminates in Longido town, where you will spend the night, surrounded by the rich culture and traditions of the local Maasai community. Overnight at Mt Longido Lodge.

Day 3

Depart Longido at 8AM, making your way towards Kitumbeine village. The route consists of mostly flat sections with a few rolling hills, offering a balanced yet engaging ride. Along the way, you'll have your first meaningful interactions with the Maasai people, known for their vibrant culture and deep-rooted traditions. Any encounter with the Maasai is a colorful and unforgettable experience, providing insight into their way of life. Midway through your journey, you will take a break to enjoy a hot lunch in the heart of the African bush before continuing towards Kitumbeine, where you will spend the night surrounded by the vast, untamed wilderness. Day 4

Today's journey takes you off the grid, tackling rugged, unpaved roads from Kitumbeine to Lengai. With rough terrain and no mapped routes, your front suspension will be put to the test, but the stunning, car-free landscapes make it worthwhile. Depending on road conditions, the ride will be a mix of cycling and driving, especially from Ol Doinyo Lengai to Lake Natron, with a hot lunch en route.
As you traverse vast plains, you’ll be surrounded by the Kerimasi, Gilai, and Kitumbeine mountains, along with seven volcanoes, including the majestic, active Ol Doinyo Lengai, the "Mountain of God." Near camp, Lake Natron’s vivid pink and red waters, home to thousands of lesser flamingos, create a surreal sight. After the ride, unwind in a natural pool while tiny tilapia fish gently massage your skin.

Day 5

Today’s ride is a long one as you leave Lake Natron behind and climb up the valley walls toward the Rift Valley escarpment. You’ll start with a relatively flat section, passing through areas with rivers flowing from the slopes of Mount OlDoinyo Lengai, all while enjoying stunning views of both the lake and the mountain. If you prefer a more relaxed option, there’s a short transfer from the camp to the junction of Longido and Engaruka, about 25 km, which follows the same route as yesterday.
Throughout the journey, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with local Maasai communities as they tend to their cattle, while zebras and wildebeests roam the same areas. The day features a mix of downhill and flat terrain, making it less challenging, but if you feel the need, our support car will be there to assist.

Today’s ride will be another long and challenging one, as you cycle from Engaruka village to Mto wa Mbu/Manyara. But don’t worry, our support vehicle will be right behind you to offer assistance whenever needed. After a well-deserved lunch break, you can continue cycling for a few more kilometers before we transfer you to the Basic campsite, where the tour will come to an end. The day may be tough, but the scenic beauty and the comfort awaiting at the camp will make it all worthwhile!

Your final ride is challenging yet rewarding, starting with a transition from dirt roads to tarmac, passing Mto wa Mbu and Lake Manyara National Park. The highlight is the tough ascent up the Great Rift Valley escarpment, offering stunning views. After a well-deserved break at the viewpoint, continue through Karatu town to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area entrance. Celebrate your achievement with a toast before.
