Day 1

You'll be picked up from your hotel in Kigali and start your adventure with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda and its evolution to one of the fastest-growing economies on the African continent. You'll depart from Kigali for a scenic road trip to Volcanoes National Park in the Virunga Mountains. The journey takes about 4 hours, offering picturesque views of the Virunga massive mountains. You'll check into your lodge for a delicious dinner and rest for an exciting day of trekking through the forest the next day.

Day 2
Optional Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the visitor center to attend a briefing session conducted by park rangers about the guidelines to follow while tracking golden monkeys as well as gorillas depending on which option you choose. After briefing, you'll head into the jungle accompanied by experienced trackers to this serene tropical rainforest. Once the golden monkeys have been located, you will spend a magical hour observing them up close. You'll learn about their behavior, social structure, and conservation efforts to protect them. Later, you'll transfer to the border of Rwanda Uganda where you will continue to drive to Bwindi for your gorilla tracking adventure.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the edge of the forest (Please note that accommodation on this day depends on where your gorilla permits have been purchased or where you are tracking gorillas from).

Day 3

After your early breakfast (7:00 am), you will have a short drive to the UWA briefing center where you will be taken through the dos and don’ts while tracking gorillas. After you have been allocated a gorilla family in a group of 8, you will be led by the armed ranger guides off the forest to search for the gorillas. When gorillas have been located, you will have one full hour of viewing them as they go on with their daily lives at a distance of 7-10 meters. After gorilla tracking, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and an overnight stay on the terraces of Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 4

After your early breakfast, you will depart from Lake Bunyonyi to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will check in at your lodge, and have lunch. Later, you'll head to Katunguru where you will take on the Kazinga Channel community boat in support of the host communities.
Kazinga channel is famous for its population of hippos and is said to have the highest population of hippos on the African continent. Other wildlife can be sighted here including the African elephants, Cape buffalos, waterbucks, birds, and reptiles like the Nile crocodile among others. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge in the Kasenyi sector.

Day 5

After your early breakfast, you will drive for 20 minutes to reach your chimpanzee tracking point for an exceptional encounter with man’s closest living relative with whom we share about 99% DNA. You will be led by the UWA guides who understand the forest very well as you search for these great apes. After they have been sighted, you will be allowed to view them for one hour as they go on with their daily lives. We recommend you carry some drinking water, and quick snacks, and of course, this being a tropical rain forest, you must carry your rain gear. After the encounter with chimpanzees, you will drive back to the lodge for a hot lunch.
In the afternoon, you'll conduct a game drive through the several tracks that a rich with abundant wildlife. While on a game drive, on a lucky day, you may be able to find several families of African elephants, pride of lions, kobs, waterbucks, and pumba. Spotting a leopard is always a plus. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Start your day with a visit to Lake Mburo National Park, renowned as one of Uganda’s most vibrant and accessible wildlife destinations. The park is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including large herds of zebra, graceful giraffes, several species of antelope, and the formidable Cape buffalo.
Enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives that offer excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing—perfect for photographers and nature lovers alike. The relatively open terrain and compact size of the park mean you’re more likely to encounter wildlife up close, just like in the iconic parks of East Africa.
In the evening, unwind with dinner and an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge located right at the edge of the park, where you can fall asleep to the sounds of nature.

After an early breakfast, set out on a guided walking safari—an intimate way to explore Lake Mburo National Park. This immersive experience allows you to connect with the landscape on foot as you track wildlife such as zebras and various antelope species, while also enjoying the rich birdlife, with over 340 species recorded in the park.
After your walk, begin the scenic drive back to Entebbe. En route, you’ll stop at the Equator for a memorable photo opportunity and perhaps a quick souvenir. Your tour concludes upon arrival in Entebbe. (Optional day room use can be arranged upon request at an additional cost.).
