Arrival in Livingstone

After arrival in Livingstone, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer to Maramba River Lodge. Elephants and hippos are regular guests in this lodge. You can watch them from the sunset deck.

Kafue National Park

In the morning of day 2 we start our safari and drive via Kalomoa to Kafue National Park, the largest and oldest National Park of Zambia with 23 different species of antejopes. We have time to explore the southern area of this huge park on our game drive.

Kafue Park - Lake Ithezi Thezi

We carry on to Lake Ithezi Thezi. The scenery on the lake shore is beautiful and wildlife occurs plentiful on the floodplains and shore line. We have 2 full days to explore this area and enjoy stunning sunsets on the lake.

Kafue National Park - central area

We will be staying in the central part of Kafue, in the Chunga region. We will spend the whole day doing game viewing in the park. Several small rivers cross this area which leaves a number of waterholes in the dry season for the animals to quench their thirst. Wild dogs, which roam large areas of the park, and cheetahs and lions are among the inhabitants here.

Kafue National Park - Busanga Plains

You will transfer in the north-western direction to Busanga Plains. This area can only be visited at a very limited time of the year. You will spend 3 days in this remote wilderness to explore the area on game drives and game walks. Your overnight stay will be in Kasonso Camp (2x FB).

Kafue National Park

After brakfast we pack our vehicle. On a long game drive we drive through Kafue National Park to the central part of the park and set up our tents at Roy’s Campsite. If time allows we can do another game drive for sunset on the bank of the Kafue River. Camping (FB).

Lusaka

In the morning we pack up camp and drive to Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. We stay overnight at Lilayi Lodge and can do a game walk of game drive on the farm in the afternoon. Dinner in the restaurant of the lodge at your own expense.

Lower Zambezi National Park

After breakfast we drive through Lusaka and down the escarpment to the Zambezi valley. A visit to the Lower Zambezi Park is one of the highlights in Zambia.
The Zambezi River on the one side and the Escarpment on the other form the backdrop of our game viewing. We do game drives in the Park and boating along the river shore to watch the animals come to drink. On one of these days we will do a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi.
We stay overnight in spacious Safari Tents at Kasaka River Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River (3x FB).
