Antananarivo - Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

Today, after your breakfast, you are going to Andasibe, east of Antananarivo. On the road, you will visit the Peyreiras Reserve, a reptile park where you will see different types of chameleons, frogs, crocodiles, geckos, butterflies, and lemurs. You will continue to Andasibe after the visit. When you arrive, you will check into your hotels and be ready for a nighttime tour to see the lemurs, frogs, and chameleons active at night.

Visit of Analamazaotra and Mitsinjo

This morning is dedicated to exploring Analamazaotra National Park, also known as Perinet. Walking through the lush rainforest, you will hear the haunting calls of the indri, the largest living lemur, which resonates across the forest canopy. The park is also home to other species of lemurs, rare birds, colorful reptiles, and countless endemic plants. With the guidance of local experts, you will gain a deeper understanding of Madagascar’s fragile ecosystems and conservation efforts. In the afternoon, we continue with a visit to the nearby Mitsinjo Reserve, a community-run conservation project focusing on reforestation and protecting lemurs. This smaller reserve offers more intimate wildlife encounters and highlights the role of local communities in preserving biodiversity.

Today, you will drive back to the capital, Antananarivo. On the way, you will enjoy one more time the beautiful scenery of this part of Madagascar and see the general life of people. The majority of people in these rural areas are engaged in agriculture. They grow crops such as rice, vegetables, and fruits, often in traditional ways. Rice fields are particularly visible along the road. Once you arrive, you will check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
