Leaving behind the endless grasslands of the Serengeti, you journey southward toward the iconic Ndutu plains, where open horizons blend with scattered acacia woodlands. As you descend into the Ndutu area, the scenery shifts into a breathtaking mix of short-grass plains and shimmering alkaline lakes—perfect habitats for wildlife. During the Ndutu calving season, thousands of wildebeest give birth almost in unison, drawing in predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas in thrilling encounters. Day 4
Ndutu
Ndutu
After breakfast, depart from Seronera with a game drive en route to the Ndutu area, located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ndutu plains are famous for their short grass, which provides ideal grazing grounds for large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Between December and March, this is the heart of the calving season, when thousands of wildebeest give birth within a short span of time.
This natural spectacle draws predators from across the Serengeti—lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas—making Ndutu one of the best places in Africa to witness the raw drama of life and survival. The region also offers a unique advantage: off-road driving is permitted, allowing you to follow wildlife closely and enjoy unobstructed photography opportunities.
Beyond the herds, the nearby Lakes Ndutu and Masek attract flamingos, storks, and other waterbirds, adding a splash of color to the plains. Evening transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater
We get out early in the morning and make our way down into the Crater of Ngorongoro. Our chances of seeing black rhinos rise significantly the earlier we descend.
Spend most of your time touring the Crater from the comfort of your 4x4 land cruiser with an open roof. The 600–650 meter high walls of Ngorongoro Crater give it the appearance of a natural zoo. Depending on the season, the terrain changes significantly, and you can always expect to see unique scenes that are unique to Tanzania.
Following the day's thrills and chills, you'll enjoy a picnic lunch near the well-known hippo pool. After that, you will be driven by our guide to Mto wa mbu for lodging.
