Nairobi to Masai Mara by Road

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel, residence, or airport in Nairobi. Travel by road towards the world-famous Masai Mara, enjoying the changing landscapes and scenic countryside.

Pass through the Great Rift Valley, with a stop at a viewpoint for panoramic views, before continuing through Narok towards the Mara.

Upon arrival, enjoy an en-route game drive as you make your way to your camp or lodge. Arrive for check-in and lunch, followed by time to relax and enjoy the facilities.

Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in the Masai Mara, exploring in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs and other wildlife. Your experienced guide will help you discover the best sightings and interpret the ecosystem.

Return to camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve, home to over 3 million large mammals. Our experienced driver-guide will take you in search of the famous Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino), as well as other animals such as hyena, cheetah, jackal, warthog, giraffe, zebra, antelope, wildebeest, and various bird species. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at Mara River while witnessing the famous migration.

After the game drive, you can opt to visit a Maasai village for US$20 per person. This visit offers insight into the Maasai culture and includes a traditional welcome with a sing-and-dance presentation, which is part of their daily lives and sacred rituals.

Following the full-day game drive, we will return to our camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Masai Mara to Nairobi by Road

After breakfast, check out of your camp and begin your scenic drive from the Masai Mara to Nairobi. As you leave the reserve behind, enjoy the changing landscapes and views of rural Kenya along the way.

The journey takes you through Narok, with an opportunity to stop for refreshments or lunch en route, before continuing towards Nairobi. Upon arrival in the capital, we will drop you off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, depending on your onward travel arrangements.

This marks the end of your safari, as you bid farewell to Kenya’s spectacular wilderness with wonderful memories of your time in the Masai Mara.
