Day 2
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park
Go on and early morning game drive in the Serengeti plains, trying to capture what was missed on yesterday’s drive. Alternatively, you can explore the untouched parts of Serengeti as you casually drift away from the surface of the earth in the early hours, safe in the basket of a hot-air balloon (additional activity). If you would like to add it, then confirm with your safari expert.
After breakfast, you will proceed to explore the vast savannah of Serengeti in your open-roof vehicle with your packed lunch. Take your hat and sunglasses out and enjoy what nature has in store for you.
Serengeti has its annual migration of herbivores. All year round, over 3 million herbivores travel throughout the Serengeti in a clockwise fashion, in search of the nutritious grasses. While the main stars of the migration are the blue (or white-bearded) gnus, which are over 2 million, the annual migration also includes herbivores such as zebra. It is best to see the migration from July to October.

Day 3
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Have an early breakfast, then explore the wildlife in the early morning when animals are most active, especially predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. The cool temperatures also make it easier for wildlife to move around.
Focus on the Seronera River area (a prime spot for big cats) or koppies (rock formations) where you can often see lions resting. Spot zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, and possibly cheetahs on the hunt. The area has a rich concentration of wildlife, so it’s a great spot for diverse animal sightings.
As you drive out of the Serengeti, you'll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If time allows, you can make a stop at the Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site often referred to as the "Cradle of Mankind". It's about halfway between Serengeti and Ngorongoro and offers insight into human evolution (optional and based on interest).
You’ll arrive at one of the lodges located at Karatu for overnight and relaxation.

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
Between the crater rim and floor, it's possible to see all of the Big Five at Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is one of the best places to see the endangered black rhino. Giraffes are not present on the crater floor; it is thought that the banks of the caldera are too steep for them to ascend. They can be spotted around the rim.
The Ngorongoro Crater can be visited year-round. During the driest months, from June to October, the lake can turn into a large white salt bed. The crater bottom is also home to a very high concentration of wildlife, and visitors are not disappointed by the quality and quantity of animals. The annual wildebeest migration also passes by the crater highlands. Guests who visit between December and March may witness the migration in this part of the Ngorongoro Crater.
After the game drive, return to Arusha.
