Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, a Maramatta Safaris representative will welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay, giving you time to rest and recharge before the adventures that await the next day.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast at 8:00 AM, you’ll receive a short briefing before departing for Tarangire National Park. Known for its baobab trees and seasonal marshes, the park is home to the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania, as well as giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, and various antelope. A hot lunch will be served in the afternoon at a picnic site, after which you’ll continue exploring the park. In the evening, you’ll head to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Karatu to Ndutu Region

Your safari begins at 8 AM with a pickup from your hotel in Karatu, heading toward the Ndutu region. Soon after, you'll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the landscape shifts from hilly forests to expansive grasslands. Upon arriving in Ndutu, you'll embark on a half-day game drive with a stop for a picnic lunch. This area is a key part of the annual migration route for over 2 million wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, and gazelles. From December to April, the plains serve as calving grounds, attracting numerous predators. After your game drive, you'll proceed to your accommodation for dinner.

As you explore the vast plains, you may also encounter a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, gazelles, and numerous bird species.

In the evening, you will start ascend the crater to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Karatu town.

West Kilimanjaro

After a relaxed breakfast within the lodge, your driver will pick you up for a drive in West Kilimanjaro. On the way, you will be able to have a view of local markets and people too.
You will arrive in the late afternoon within your arranged accommodation, whereby you will unwind, relax and prepare yourself for the day hike on the next day.

Kilimajaro Day Hike Via Shira Plateau

After breakfast at the camp, you will meet your guide and drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate for registration before beginning your hike. Enjoy a full day of trekking along the Shira Route at approximately 3,000 meters, taking in spectacular views. Warm clothing and proper hiking footwear are recommended. After the hike, you will transfer to Simba Farm Lodge in West Kilimanjaro for dinner and an overnight stay.
