Day 1

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Be picked up early by our tour guide in Kampala or Entebbe and start off toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you will make a stop at the equator for the experience of standing with one foot on either side of the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. Continuing on, you will have lunch either in the town of Mbarara or at the lodge, depending on the time. Enjoy the views from the lodge and relax in the evening.

Wake up early for a game drive in the Kasenyi part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you have the chance to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of birds and more. After lunch, you will go on the afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga Channel. This two-hour boat ride is a great highlight where you can look for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel. After an exciting boat ride, If interested you can go on an evening game drive or spend your evening relaxed.

Day 3

Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi

Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi

Head off to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning. The drive goes along an adventurous road and you have the chance of seeing baboons and elephants along the way. In Ishasha you can find topis and buffaloes, and search for the tree-climbing lions. The lions in this area are famous for climbing up great fig trees to take a rest. After finishing your game drive, this journey goes on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy the changing landscape as the car slowly climbs up toward the misty mountains of the gorillas. On arrival at the accommodation, you will relax and dinner as you await the next day's activity.

Day 4

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi to Relax

Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger guide) on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter Bwind Forest for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of (2,200 – 2,478m) but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — you could admire them all day.

Day 5

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Have breakfast and set off to Lake Mburo NP via Mbarara City, arriving in the early afternoon and take some rest before proceeding out for the late afternoon (evening) game viewing. On the game drive, expect to see the gigantic eland antelopes, zebras, topi, impalas, Uganda kob and Cape buffalos among others. Later, relax at the accommodation where you will spend the night.

Safari walk and game drive

Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning park (bush) walk in the presence of an armed
Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger/guide. On this early morning guided walk, you will have the opportunity to
encounter (at close range): Zebras, Giraffes and Eland, Topi and other antelope, Cape buffaloes among others.
Take the Trail to the top of the hills and see Lake Mburo and beyond. From this vantage point, you will have a
great view of 9 of the twelve lakes surrounding Lake Mburo NP. Return to lodge for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, it is time for your game drive in the park. Return to the lodge to relax and an overnight stay.
