Nairobi to Masai Mara

Your safari adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or residence in Nairobi. After a short briefing, you’ll set off on a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, with a brief stop at a viewpoint to take in the sweeping landscapes. The journey continues across the vast Kenyan countryside, arriving at your mid-range lodge or tented camp near Masai Mara in time for lunch. After settling in, you’ll head out for your first game drive in the reserve later in the afternoon. This is your first chance to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and other wildlife in their natural habitat as the sun sets over the savannah. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Explore Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch. The Masai Mara is Kenya’s premier game reserve, renowned for its dense wildlife population and the annual Great Migration (July to October). You’ll explore various corners of the reserve in search of the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—as well as cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, and an incredible variety of birdlife. Your guide will navigate through the rolling plains and riverbanks, offering insights into animal behavior and the ecosystem. After a full day in the wild, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and a well-earned rest.

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, you’ll check out and depart Masai Mara, driving through the scenic Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive in the park. Lake Nakuru is famous for its large flocks of flamingos (seasonal) and is one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos. The park is also home to Rothschild’s giraffe, waterbucks, zebras, and a variety of bird species. After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at the lodge with views of the surrounding landscape. Since re-entry into the park is not included, this morning is free for rest, photography around the lodge/camp. Later in the morning, you’ll begin your return journey to Nairobi, arriving in the early to mid-afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, marking the end of your memorable 4-day safari adventure.
