This exciting one-day hike takes you from Marangu Gate (1,879m) up to the scenic Mandara Hut (2,720m)—the first camp on the Marangu Route—and back the same day. After a scenic 45 km drive (45 min from Moshi / 2 hrs from Arusha), you’ll complete park formalities before starting your trek through lush rainforest filled with birds, monkeys, and giant ferns. The 8 km trail (16 km round trip) takes about 3–4 hours each way, offering stunning views and a taste of Kilimanjaro’s magic. Enjoy a packed lunch at Mandara Hut or at a scenic picnic spot along the trail. After soaking in the beauty and tranquility, descend back to the gate (2–3 hours) where your vehicle awaits for your transfer to the hotel—ending your day with beautiful sunset views and unforgettable memories.
