Your adventure begins with the sun just rising, casting a warm glow as you depart from the pick-up point at 7:30 a.m. The road stretches ahead, taking you through Uganda’s vibrant landscapes. At Equator, a short stop for breakfast and freshening up brings a sense of excitement for the journey ahead. The equator line crosses our path, offering you the experience of standing in both hemispheres at once! The unique equator experiment shows how water spirals differently on each side of the Earth, a sight you won’t soon forget.

As you travel further, you’ll stop in Biharwe, where a short hike leads you to the Eclipse Monument, a symbol of a powerful moment in Uganda’s history. By lunchtime, you’ll arrive at Igongo Cultural Centre, a treasure trove of Ugandan culture and flavour. Savor a delicious meal here, perhaps trying dishes infused with Ankole heritage, before continuing on to Bwindi.

Today is the day! After an early breakfast at 7:00 a.m., you'll make your way to the park gate for registration and a briefing. The excitement is unmistakable as the ranger shares what to expect during the trek. In groups of eight, led by an experienced guide, you’ll set off into the misty forest each step building anticipation.

As you move through Bwindi’s dense vegetation, with sunbeams filtering through the canopy, the moment arrives: you come face-to-face with a family of mountain gorillas. For one unforgettable hour, you’ll observe them up close watching them play, rest, groom, and interact in their natural world. It’s a powerful experience, one that leaves a lasting impression and a deep sense of connection.

From here, you’ll continue your journey north with a scenic 3-hour drive to the Ishasha sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions.

Scenic Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a hearty breakfast at 6:30 a.m., set out for a morning game drive in the Ishasha sector keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing lions, as well as buffalo, elephants, and a variety of birdlife.
After the drive, begin your 2-hour journey north through the beautiful Maramagambo Forest and open grassland plains. As you enter the northern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the landscape opens into wide savannah dotted with acacia and fig trees, alive with birdsong and distant calls of wildlife.

By lunchtime, you’ll arrive at Buffalo Safari Lodge, Settle in and enjoy a leisurely lunch with views of wildlife elephants often wander close, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing afternoon.

Later in the evening, head out for a peaceful sunset cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This boat ride offers close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of birds, all gathering at the water’s edge. It’s a calm, scenic way to wind down the day.

Day 4

Today begins with a 6:30 a.m. breakfast, followed by a morning game drive through the Kasenyi Plains. This area is rich in wildlife, so keep your camera ready for lions, elephants, antelopes, and a variety of bird species.

After the game drive, set off on a 4-hour journey to Kibale National Park. The drive offers scenic views of crater lakes and rolling countryside, making the time on the road part of the adventure. You’ll arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and a bit of rest.

In the afternoon, head out for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale’s tropical forest. Guided by experienced trackers, you’ll follow the sounds of rustling leaves and calls through the trees until you encounter a troop of chimpanzees going about their day.

Return to the lodge in the evening to unwind and get a good night's rest you’ll be preparing for a longer travel day to Murchison Falls tomorrow.

After an energizing breakfast, embark on a scenic journey northward to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the route, pause for lunch in Hoima, recharging for the adventure ahead. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the park and catch your first view of Murchison Falls, where the Nile crashes through a narrow gorge, creating a breathtaking cascade and mist-filled air. This raw display of nature’s power invites a moment of awe as you take in the sights and sounds.

As dusk falls, you’ll arrive at Pakuba Lodge, a haven within the park where animals often roam freely through the grounds, enhancing the immersive wilderness experience. Dinner awaits with the soothing sounds of the African bush, offering a peaceful close to an unforgettable day.
