The day starts with a visit to Kabaka’s Palace, located in the heart of Kampala. Later, just a short drive from the palace, visit Uganda which is Uganda's oldest public museum, established in 1908. Proceed and visit Kasubi Tombs. The Kasubi Tombs are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the burial grounds for the kings of the Buganda Kingdom. After, you will have lunch to the local restaurants around the area and then proceed to Namugongo shrine. The shrine is built in memory of the 22 martyrs who were killed for their faith in the late 19th century by the orders of the King of Buganda, Kabaka Mwanga II. Meet with your guide and start the second day by visiting the Nakasero Market, one of Kampala’s busiest and most vibrant markets. Here, you’ll experience the hustle and bustle of city life, from colorful stalls selling fresh produce, crafts, and fabrics to the local tradespeople selling handmade goods. The market is a great place to practice your bargaining skills and buy Ugandan souvenirs like kitenge fabrics, handmade jewelry, and wooden carvings. Then visit the Ghaddafi Mosque which is one of the largest mosques in Africa and a significant place of worship for Muslims in Uganda. The mosque was built with the assistance of Muammar Gaddafi, the former Libyan leader. You can climb to the rooftop for stunning panoramic views of Kampala and its surrounding hills.
